Melanie Clifford was born and raised in Kasson , Minnesota , a small town in southern Minnesota . She has spent many years working as a volunteer in Christian counseling. She is a professional artist who has had her work commissioned by clients and has sold her paintings at art festivals and at juried art shows. After thirty-five years of painting, Melanie decided to try her hand at writing and The Earth Waited was created. She and her husband live in Maple Grove , Minnesota and have three children and ten grandchildren. She especially loves the time she spends with her family.
